Below are the basic instructions for installing Eibach lowering springs. The installation procedure may vary based on the spring design and the vehicle application. Follow the Eibach installation instructions for your specific vehicle and always replace springs as a complete set. Make sure you have all the tools needed to complete the work, including a spring compressor for coilovers.
Installing Lowering Springs On Coilovers:
- Locate the correct lift points and raise the vehicle.
- Remove the wheels for access to the strut assemblies.
- Disconnect the sway bar end links from the struts.
- Disconnect the steering knuckles from the struts
- Disconnect the lower control arms at the steering knuckle.
- Disconnect any related electrical connectors.
- Support each strut and remove the top strut tower bolts.
- Remove the struts from the vehicle.
- Compress the spring according to the tool instructions.
- Remove the top plate from the strut assembly and carefully decompress the spring.
- Compress the new lowering spring and follow these steps in the reverse order to complete installation.
Installing Lowering Springs On Independent Rear Suspension:
- Locate the correct lift points and raise the vehicle.
- Remove the wheels for access to the springs and shock absorbers.
- Allow the suspension to hang down at full travel.
- Position jack stands under the location of each axle spring.
- Support the lower control arms with jack stands.
- Remove the lower bolt from the shocks.
- Disconnect the lower control arms at the suspension knuckle.
- Slowly raise the vehicle to release spring tension.
- Remove the spring.
- Install the new lowering spring and follow these steps in the reverse order to complete installation.
Installing Lowering Springs On Torsion Beam Suspension:
- Locate the correct lift points and carefully raise the vehicle.
- Remove the wheels for access to the springs and shock absorbers.
- Allow the suspension to hang down at full travel.
- Position jack stands under the location of each axle spring.
- Support the axle on both sides with jack stands.
- Remove the lower bolt from the shocks.
- Slowly raise the vehicle to release spring tension.
- Remove the springs.
- Install the new lowering springs and follow these steps in the reverse order to complete installation.
Test drive the vehicle to settle the suspension and verify proper installation.
Eibach coilover adjustment is specific to the off-road Pro-Truck Performance shocks. The Pro-Truck Lift features a height-adjustable spring perch groove that must be set before installation into the vehicle. The Pro-Truck Coilover 2.0 features a threaded collar that can be adjusted on the vehicle with a spanner wrench.
